Washington, DC — January 22, 2014 — NaviMed Capital, a leading healthcare private capital firm based in Washington, DC, today announced the formation of its Health Policy Council, an advisory group comprised of four nationally prominent healthcare policymakers who provide the firm with deep expertise in legislation, payment, and regulation.

“As we have witnessed in every prior period of U.S. healthcare reform, change driven from Washington, DC can create significant opportunities for privately-backed healthcare companies,” said Ryan Schwarz, Managing Director of NaviMed Capital. “We are honored to have such a strong group of Health Policy Council members join NaviMed. They each bring a wealth of experience, insight, and relationships.”

“NaviMed’s health policy-driven investment perspective is ideally suited for today’s rapidly changing healthcare landscape,” said Dr. Farzad Mostashari, member of NaviMed Capital’s Health Policy Council. “I look forward to working with NaviMed as they help grow successful healthcare companies.”
